ABOUT MY PRACTICE
“I want to be like a sunflower; for even on the darkest days I can stand tall and find the sunlight.” -unknown
My practice offers a safe place for discussion and growth without reservation or judgement. It is a place where you are invited to speak freely and honestly and it is my role as your therapist to listen, support and offer guidance to assist you in finding the answers that work best for you. No matter the issue at hand (stress, grief, relationship issues, substance abuse, life commitments, sadness and depression, fear and anxiety) many of us are clouded when we are not able to talk freely and express our inner experiences. Therapy offers a place to work through the cloudiness, to a place of clarity and peace. Much of my experience is working with addiction and substance abuse disorders, however, I see individuals, adolescents, and families for a variety of mental health issues in my practice.
SERVICES I OFFER
INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
The purpose of individual therapy is to discuss issues that you are struggling with in your life with a trained professional who can offer kind support and useful tools to create positive changes. Many clients I see find relief from their anxiety, depression, life stress, relationship discord and improved coping skills to replace substance abuse. I strive to provide immediate symptom relief as well as meeting long term goals.
ADOLESCENT THERAPY
Much of my work has been in high schools and adolescent residential treatment for substance abuse and mental health disorders. I enjoy working with teenagers and the opportunity to discover the young, curious, and developing individual beyond the defiant and resistant exterior. Therapy offers a safe and confidential space to sort out true thoughts and feelings and guide individuals to making healthier decisions.
FAMILY THERAPY
Families rely on communication, expectations, and follow through to help each family member achieve their needs, feel happy, supported, and satisfied. At times, families can experience disruptions in these areas causing conflict, unhappiness, and discord. Family therapy offers a place to identify unwanted patterns and return to healthy communication and expectations.
